To gauge public views on the film classification system and film censorship standards, the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) has commissioned an independent survey firm, viz. MVA Hong Kong Limited (MVA), to conduct an opinion survey on the film classification system from July to September 2024.

The survey will be conducted through face-to-face interviews. Sampled households are selected on a random basis. OFNAA has issued letters to the selected households, inviting them to participate in the survey. A sample letter is attached at Annex for reference.

MVA's interviewers will visit the selected households during the aforementioned period. Householders may call MVA's designated hotline (2866 8382)1 to verify the identities of the interviewers, or make prior appointments with MVA. A unique serial number is provided on the top right corner of each invitation letter for verification. In addition, OFNAA has provided an enquiry telephone number (3847 7753)2 in the letter. Selected households may contact OFNAA to verify the authenticity of the survey and make enquiries related thereto.

The survey is very important to OFNAA in gauging public views on the film classification system and film censorship standards. We appeal to all selected households to participate in the survey. Information collected from the household interviews will be used for statistical analysis only. All questionnaires will be destroyed after completion of the survey.
