"Healthy Student Drama Contest 2024-25" is co-organised by the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) and Spring-Time Experimental Theatre. The contest aims to promote the culture of healthy drama, enhance youngster's understanding of the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (Cap. 390), and say no to objectionable information through performing drama by youngsters with imagination and creativity.
The registration opens from now to 31 October 2024 and will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis. For enquiries, please contact Spring-Time Experimental Theatre (Ms. Lam) at 2793 1123.
This programme includes two stages: Stage 1 - Three sessions of on-site drama workshops and Stage 2 - Drama Contest. All activities will be conducted in Cantonese. Details are as follows:
Stage 1: On-site Drama Workshops
Primary School (P4-6) and Secondary School Student
Three on-site drama workshops will be held between 4 November 2024 and 30 June 2025
Session 1: between 4 November 2024 and 19 January 2025
(a) Staff from OFNAA will introduce the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (Cap. 390) before the start of workshop.
(b) Scriptwriting skills, acting training, analysis of script elements, character Creation and improvisation skills
Session 2: between 3 February 2025 and 20 April 2025
Content: Acting training, character Creation skills and instructor's advice on students' entries
Session 3: between 5 May 2025 and 30 June 2025
Content: Instructor's advice on students' entries (focusing on props making, control of sound and lighting and costumes design etc.)
Upon completion of the three workshops, all participating teams are welcome to stage a school performance (which must be a fully rehearsed play) before the Contest, in order to promote the message of staying away from obscene and indecent articles to students in their schools. HK$500 book coupons will be rewarded to the team that has completed the school performance. During the school performance, OFNAA or Spring-Time Experimental Theatre will arrange video recordings for documentation and publicity purposes in future.

Stage 2: Drama Contest
Primary School (P4-6) and Secondary School (S1-6)
6-10 students per team, including actors and backstage workers
Late June/early July 2025 (Primary Schools and Secondary Schools competitions would be held on two separate days)
Champion, first runners-up, second runners-up and merit awards for each category
